The inherent variability of the sun, resulting from cloud cover and normal diurnal changes makes this an ideal power source for the VSI Generator. Above some minimum pressure, a turbine could produce enough torque to drive the VSI Generator, which will in turn generate electricity. This coupling of a variable power source with the VSI Generator will result in greater overall efficiency and an expanded operating range. STE will be made more cost effective when the VSI Generator is applied to this power source. |
